20th Century Silver French Pair of Iron Benches Attributed to Jean-Michel Frank

About the Item

A silver, vintage Mid-Century Modern French pair of benches made of handcrafted painted iron attributed to Jean-Michel Frank, in good condition. The Parisian stools are standing, supported by a X-Form base, resting on four arched feet, detailed with Greek keys. Newly upholstered in a white bouclé fabric from Pierre Frey. Wear consistent with age and use, circa 1960 - 1970, Paris, France. Jean-Michel Frank was a French interior designer and decorator born in 1895, in Paris, France and passed away in 1941. In 1904, Frank attended the Lycee Janson academic institution in Paris and in 1911 he studied law until 1915. Frank showed his interest for interior design after being inspired by the artistic circles of Paris and Venice. He is considered one of the most influential designers and decorators of the Parisian haute-monde of the 1930s and 1940s.
