Antique Gustavian Gray Painted Bench from Sweden

About the Item

This lovely bench is a wonderful example of Swedish Gustavian craftsmanship with delicately carved details seen best in the close up photos. Turned finials and tapered legs add to the timeless appeal and style. The professional newly applied dove gray painted finish has been gently distressed adding to the aged grace of the bench. Please note the foam seat covered in linen fabric is simply stapled to show what this bench may look like when properly upholstered (The simple fabric and foam will be included with purchase). See photo that shows the plank seat is removeable vs. hinged as this bench originally served as a type of spare trundle bed. This bench has been restored and is solid/stable; any nicks, scratches, distress and signs of wear are commensurate with age and do not impact the function nor beauty of this lovely Gustavian bench. Please take a moment to enlarge the photos and examine the details up close. Seat height 17" to frame (20" to top of foam seat).
