Simple yet stately, this classic Jacobean style English oak carved settle bench is what the English calls a wooden bench that has arms and a high back, long enough to accommodate three or four sitters. Often with seat that folds open to reveal a large storage space as does this one with a lift seat for concealed storage -- shoes in the hallway or blankets in a bedroom.
