Bench, Swedish with Griffons, 19th Century

About the Item

With significant size and presence, this armed bench has a long single seat and three separate upholstered back rests and upholstered arm rests. The elaborately carved wood is painted a dark grey. The most notable feature is the large griffons facing forward under the arm rests. Viewed from the side, you can see the griffons' full body with coiled tail. The back of the bench gently curves toward the front at the ends that gives this bench a welcoming feel.
