WHERE "THE THINKER" WOULD PREFER TO SIT The Caitlin Bench is from Mark Levin's Profile Series and is named after the Romanian violinist Caitlin de Ville. As is her music, the Caitlin Bench is dramatic and unique. The Profile Series design concept is simple, take the material, push it through a form like a cookie dough extruder, then cut the material to the correct thickness or, in the case of the Bench, the proper depth. This cookie-cutter design process, when designed imaginatively, gives the profile view an overpowering presence. Seven sections of laminated American Ash form the Caitlin bench and are immaculately joined together with walnut splines forming an extremely strong zipper-like joint. The rectangular walnut splines offer a refined and subtle contrast to the striking fluid curves. The piece is stained apple red and top-coated with highly durable and maintenance-free polyurethane. The Caitlin Bench will hold court in any museum, library, dining room, or office.
