One of the few pieces of Spanish design that were never improved maintaining its commercial fortitude.
DETAILS
The secret lies in its well-known virtues. Its ergonomic shape, wisely adapted from the bench Antoni Gaudí designed for Güell Park; and the deployé steel, which gives it a sense of transparency so that it blends discreetly into its setting, prevents rainwater from collecting and keeps it warm in winter and cool in summer. On the basis of the 1 m. module benches of any length can be assembled, single or back-to-back, using the type of leg desired.

Tubular steel seating recovered with a deployé.
Legs, seats and optional arms in zinc steel, painted in epoxy polyester Grey Ref. 9006 texturized Silver.

Oscar Tusquets
Oscar Tusquets describes himself as an architect by training, a designer by adaptation, a painter by vocation and a writer through the desire to make friends.
Born in Barcelona in 1941, Oscar Tusquets graduated as an architect in 1965 from Barcelona’s Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura and was a member of Studi Per, together with Pep Bonet, Cristian Cirici, Lluís Clotet and Mireia Riera. Together they founded BD in 1972, when he set about designing furniture and other objects, recognised by the Spanish National Design Award.
A number of his pieces appear in renowned museum collections such as the MoMA in New York and the Centre George Pompidou in Paris. He has also been honoured with the Medalla de Oro al Mérito en las Bellas Artes [Gold Medal for Merit in the Fine Arts], the insignia of Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres [Knight of the Order of the Arts and Letters] and the Creu de Sant Jordi [Cross of Sant Jordi]. Since the 1990s he has published books on a wide range of design related topics.
