About the Item
This Donald Judd inspired bench trio in walnut was originally made for my own one bedroom home. It elegantly solved the problem of occasionally needing additional dining seating and also wanting an entry bench. Inspired by a trio made by Donald Judd, the tension between the clean geometric design and the highly figured Oregon claro walnut grain for the tops makes for a truly unique set. The stunning claro walnut grain carries through the tops of all three seats so that you can see the continuity of the board they were cut from when they are grouped together. The ‘legs’ of each piece carry through to the top plane so that the visible end grain contrasts with the rest of the wood around it to become a feature of the design. The set works equally well as a trio of side or end tables. Finish is a natural oil and wax

Boyd & Allister is a custom furniture studio located in Santa Fe, New Mexico. We have been hand making furniture for designers and architects around the country since 2010. We custom make each piece using traditional joinery methods and hand select each piece of wood. We source our wood from small sawyers around the country who bring the same level of care to their craft as we bring to ours. Many of our designs are inspired by mid century masters; timeless with clean lines, allowing the beauty of the wood to shine.
