French Louis XVI Style Mahogany Bench or Diminutive Settee
About the Item
Exquisite French mahogany bench seat or diminutive settee crafted in the style of a small daybed. The hand-carved frame features an arched head and footboards with floral crests. The reeded corner columns are topped with acorn style finials in the neoclassical taste. The bench is beautifully upholstered on the inside and out with a double welt border. The soft fabric is textured in a flannel grey tone. The bed is supported by turned, tapered legs ending with peg feet. Impressive craftsmanship with a distinctive profile. Could also serve as a childs bed or window seat. From an estate in Napa, Valley, CA.
