About the Item

Giuseppe Rivadossi bench, pine, wood, Italy, 1970s In the world of great design, this bench made by Giuseppe Rivadossi emerges as an exemplar of bespoke craftsmanship, crafted for a private client and made by Rivadossi in Italy in the 1970s. This bench is not merely a functional item but a statement piece - a harmonious fusion of form and function. This piece invites people to recognize the value of skilled craftsmanship and the uniqueness that comes with a personal touch. Giuseppe Rivadossi (1935) was born in Monteclana di Nave, Italy, where he still lives and works. At a young age, Rivadossi's path begins with wood carving, with works reflecting on his poetic idea of living. In 1962, Rivadossi took over the carpentry founded in 1920 by his father Clemente, which he transformed into an atelier, or rather a creative workshop. Eventually, Rivadossi and collaborators established 'Officina Rivadossi' in 1976 where he started the manufacture of wooden objects and unique modern furniture. Please note that this item is in good, used condition.

Jean & Sébastien Touret Oak Bench, France, 1950s
Located in Utrecht, NL
The term brutalism — which derives from the French word brut, meaning “raw” — was originally coined to describe an architectural style that emerged in the 1950s featuring monumental buildings, usually made of unornamented concrete, whose design was meant to project an air of strength and solidity. Similarly, in furniture design Brutalism inspired designers to create models with the same look of strength and style. This Jean & Sébastien Touret...
