About the Item
Solid ash plank bench with "knife edge" to all four sides, raised on custom heavyweight chrome legs in the style of Harry Bertoia. 1970s era studio craft piece from an estate in the Colorado mountains. Marks, divets and the beautiful documentation of time remain to the surface, enriching the patina and the history of the piece. Structurally strong and stable.
A sturdy, well-proportioned piece of Midcentury Modern design styled after a very similar chrome frame design to Harry Bertoia's iconic slat bench. A 1960s streamlined piece that looks as good today as (actually better!) than less nuanced Contemporary pieces. The length, construction and versatility of this piece is unmatched. A low slung coffee table, an entry bench, a gallery display table, and great for the end of a king size bed.
