Inessa Hansch is distinguished by her view of the landscape. The singularity of his work is to stay awake, upstream of project management, on the presuppositions of the order, so as to be able to make it evolve during the study. This is how constructions of different scales and natures (furniture, belvedere, buildings) come to be inserted, often outside the program, for which rules of implantations are established beforehand which contribute to a better use of space. public and a clarification of the image of the places.
This type of intervention was developed through the exercise of “synthetic drawing”, a method of highlighting the different aspects of the site and the project (the character of the places, the nature of the spaces, the natural geography) . This approach is a vision of a landscape architect. Its purpose is to highlight the ways in which buildings relate to the ground and their grip with the void.
The tools put in place (the schematic vision or the diagram) are essentially used to visualize the spaces in order to control their proportions and define the appropriate scales for the uses and the site. They are tools for anchoring a large-scale structure, which come in the form of a surface in superimposable strata, awaiting the architectural and landscape project. It is a common basis, a space for co-reflection, which makes it possible to link the various interventions so that the buildings and the facilities are part of a common and controlled project.
Inessa Hansch taught her model during cycles of workshops held at the Graduate School of Design at Harvard University between 2014 and 2017.
