Large Handcrafted Scottish Elm Bench

About the Item

Solid Scottish Elm contemporary refectory bench. Handcrafted with wedged mortice and tenon joints on the legs and wiggly feet. Based on traditional construction, with a chunkier and playful twist. This table is made from solid timber, intelligent use of joinery pulls the form together in a robust way. The legs are attached knocking the 'keys' through the tenons to lock the pieces together to assemble or disassemble the bench. This is a traditional joinery method that locks the tenon in place and creates a sturdy and durable piece of furniture. The wiggly feet give the bench an additional joyful character. A modern take on traditional farmhouse benches. Custom dimensions and English oak are available upon request - and will be quoted for separately.
