About the Item

This beautiful antique specimen reflects the creativity and personal pride taken by craftsman of this early era. Crafted in England during the late 18th century from oak, this piece boasts 4 barley twist legs connected to an H cross stretcher also of turned barley twists, securing each leg into the solid frame. The carving that adorns the skirt top and edging of the bench reminds one of a finely etched leather. The corner square joint portray beautifully carved rosettes. The rick dark oak is classic alongside the red velvet covered bench top. This piece is perfect in its simplicity for some many aesthetics, yet goes even further into artful beauty with the hand-carving overall, which sets this bench apart from others. A stunning addition to so many decors and certainly one that will draw attention within the space.
