Late 18th Century Carved Primitive Spanish Catalan Settle Bench

About the Item

A late 18th century primitive settle bench handcrafted in the Catalan region of Spain of mélèze, a hard pine grown in mountainous regions, circa 1790s. Having a carved scalloped wing back and scalloped apron, this handsome Spanish bench features plank construction and an amazing sun washed patina that has weathered to a beautiful pale honey color over the last two centuries. A versatile bench that's strong and sturdy. Perfect as a kitchen banquette, or use in a hallway, mudroom, or at the foot of the bed.
