Lewis Slat Bench Midcentury Style with Drawers, Ebonized Oak and Spalted Maple
About the Item
New York Heartwoods' Lewis bench adds elegant storage to midcentury-style design. The unique black veining of spalted maple wraps around the contiguous panels and drawer fronts, complimenting the ebonized oak frame. Each bench is made by hand using local sustainably-sourced lumber, no-VOC hard oil finishes, and blackened recycled brass edge-mounted pulls capping soft-close maple dovetailed drawers. Also ideal as a coffee table.
Panels shown in spalted maple panels, white oak (in situ), and fully ebonized. Any hardwood can be used for contrasting panels and drawer fronts with no upcharge. Available in custom sizes and finishes, contact us for pricing.

New York Heartwoods
New York Heartwoods (NYH) is a woman-owned and operated fabricator of fine solid wood furniture, using sustainable wood milled from fallen and urban Hudson Valley trees. Founded in 2011 out of our love of forests and our desire to create both beautiful timeless designs and environmental and economic solutions for our community, we impeccably craft unique heirloom-quality furniture and work closely with our clients to create custom pieces for residential and commercial interiors. NYH began as a lumber and slab producer and retailer, sourcing logs from local landowners and tree services. Requests for furniture and retail displays made with that wood soon followed. In Fall 2017, after several years of doing custom fabrication, NYH launched its first collection, some of which is showcased on this platform. With our background in wood production we additionally work with our clients to create finished products from their own trees. Overseeing the milling and drying allows us to produce the materials needed to fabricate pieces to desired specifications, and create furniture that has immeasurable value.
Customers can chose a black or natural frame and from the following woods for the panels: Spalted Maple, White Oak, Walnut. Custom sizes, woods and finishes are available by request and may incur an upcharge.
