About the Item
Fantastic, from Lancaster County, Pennsylvania this totally hand built and hand painted 3 seat settle with a one piece plank bench seat has remained untouched with the exception of the two end stretchers which wete professionally replaced. Found in a barn in Amish country the original hand stenciled and splat back painting of flowers has remained. I would guess that about 75% of the original paint remains and it fascinates me that for almost 200 years it has survived without being repainted and virtually ruined. A true survivor. Very tight and sturdy it was reglued where needed, the stretchers mostly.
