Mid-Century Modern Splayed Floating Bench with Button Details

About the Item

This sophisticated Mid-Century Modern "floating" bench was realized in the United States circa 1950. It features splayed tapered legs- attached via rectangular cross slats- that connect to the cushions through four vertical cylindrical supports all in ebonized walnut. The raised construction of the bench provides it with a captivating "floating" effect. The seat has raised ends that extend outwards at a dramatic angle, imbuing these pieces with a dynamic and graphic Silhouette- an aesthetic that is heightened by the geometric grisaille fabric. With its clean modernist lines and beautiful attention to detail, this bench would be a winning addition to any style of interior from Classic Mid-Century Modern to contemporary. It has been newly reupholstered and restored to mint condition. American, circa 1950 Dimensions: Height: 26.5 in. (67.31 cm) x Width: 47.5 in. (120.65 cm) x Depth: 16 in.
