About the Item

Vintage modernist concrete bench from Belgium, circa 1940s. Reminiscent of Le Corbusier’s ‘Borne Béton Grande’ outdoor floor lamp for Chandigarh. Minimalist, Bauhaus’esque design, this bench epitomizes Mies van Der Rohe’s dictum “Less is more”. Made entirely of concrete, this bench would make an outstanding focal point in your garden. Years of being outdoors in the European weather has given this bench a beautiful patina, interspersed with lichen and moss. In very good condition overall. Extremely heavy.
