About the Item
A pair of benches upholstered in cream-colored button-tufted silk from the 20th century. Each bench features a deep diamond button-tufted seat and rolled pleated side arms above a large skirt providing storage space. Possibly by the famous 20th century Moroccan interior designer Alberto Pinto, their elegant and modernized shape reminiscent of classical antiquity along with their delicate tone makes it the perfect addition at the foot of a bed, or in a living room to add extra seating against a wall or window.

A pair of Japanese underglaze blue and white porcelain baluster vases from the late 19th century painted with shaped panels of flowers, insects and birds. Formerly in the Kentshire collection, each piece features a round panel with a fly on a prunus branch, naturalistically painted in cobalt blue on a white ground. Another shaped panel presents two charming birds on a branch painted by a free, fluid hand with shading and brushstrokes. Watery blue peonies, auspicious symbols of springtime and prosperity, emerge from a dense cobalt blue background of tight arabesques motifs arranged in a most delicate composition. The lip of the vase presents a thunder pattern frieze, symbol of life, and a mark on the bottom.
