About the Item

An impressive and most decorative pair of Italian turn-of-the-century Louis XIV st. mecca benches. Each bench is raised by fine reeded gadroon feet below block reserves each connected by a scalloped shape stretcher with an elegant curved design leading to a central carved sunflower reserve. Each handsome square tapered leg displays striking large richly carved acanthus leaves with scrolled ionic capital like top reserves and majestic Fleur de Lys carvings. Above each leg are additional block reserves flanking the straight frieze displaying a beautiful fitted mirrored interlocking pattern and stunning central seashell reserve amidst large scrolled acanthus leaves. All original mecca throughout.
