About the Item
This box bench is full of character. The scalloped back rail peaks with a blunted point and assists the bottom rail and back stiles in enclosing six flat balusters, separated by a central splat. The legs are straight with the integral arm rests scrolled on the top and framing two more balusters each side. The wide seat lifts to reveal a deep storage well, divided into two equal compartments. The piece is finished in old buttermilk paint over an earlier off-white, worn through to bare wood in places.
