About the Item

Introducing an authentic, vintage "Ripple" bench, designed by the pioneering and trailblazing Laurinda Hope Spear. Featuring its original burnt orange knit fabric, instantly recognizable wave shape and adjustable feet this Post Modern icon is ideal for collectors and designers alike searching for an authentic, vintage Brayton International Ripple Bench that is in 100% original, vintage condition. Born in 1950, Spear has established herself as one of the leading women architects and designers in the world co-founding Arquitectonica in 1977 with fellow architects Bernardo Fort-Brescia, Andres Duany, Elizabeth Plater-Zyberk, and Hervin Romney. In its early years, the Miami-based firm created a number of colorful, geometrically inspired structures — including the "Pink House" and the "Atlantis" which have become iconic. Spear also introduced a new style of interiors into many of the Arquitectonica buildings, and this move spurred the introduction and development of her line of products for international firms such as Brayton, Wolf Gordon, and Hunter Douglas; chief among them the Post Modern classic "Ripple" Bench. Perfect for office or studio spaces this exceptionally well cared for Ripple bench is sure to make a BOLD statement in any space it inhabits. With this being the last bench out of the original set of four procured, when it's gone - it's gone forever. Add this extraordinary piece of design history to your collection today and elevate your home's aesthetic to new heights. ---Dimensions--- Width: 97 in / 246.38 cm Depth: 19 in / 48.26 cm Height: 19 in / 48.26 cm Condition Details: This fabulous "Ripple" bench is in 100% original condition and has aged to perfection!
