Rustic Oak Bench with Storage
About the Item
Seating and storage abound in this rustic bench from Belgium. Crafted in the late-19th century from roughly hewn oak, it has all the look of age-worn stability and rugged reliability. With a wide backrest that is supported by shaped side wings, the bench is welcoming place to sit. Its seat easily accommodates three and raises to generous storage on three long, interior, iron hinges. Six square recessed panels on the face of the storage area add depth and dimension to the overall simplicity of the bench. The bench is raised on a 4.75 inch plinth platform that is open in the back. From the top of the platform, the seat height is 15.5 inches. A decorative iron escutcheon accents the piece.
