About the Item
The Oak Redux Bench is a commanding study in balance, crafted from solid French oak and upholstered in luxurious mohair. Each piece is sculpted by hand in France, making every bench entirely unique. The natural grain, splits, and fissures of the wood are intentionally preserved, transforming time’s slow imprint into part of the design’s beauty. The Mohair is by Pierre Frey in Chocolate which is a rich and sumptuous warm tone of brown.
Two monumental oak blocks anchor the composition, while the seat appears to float between them—an interplay of weight and suspension that gives the piece both architectural presence and sculptural elegance. The mohair upholstery introduces a tactile richness, creating a striking contrast against the raw oak.
Offered in multiple lengths and made to order, the Oak Redux Bench is more than seating—it is a collectible work of design that brings gravity, warmth, and poetry to any interior.

Slash Objects is an award-winning design studio based in New York City. Our work is rooted in a fascination with materials and how they are brought together. Using unexpected juxtapositions and thoughtful design, we create beautiful pieces that transform the way people experience the world. Our process begins in the material, with an interest in exposing the very tactile nature of making, while creating pure forms bound together by geometry and precision. The materials we use are recycled and long-lasting, breathing new life cycles into materials otherwise relegated to waste. Slash Objects was founded in 2016 by architect and designer Arielle Assouline-Lichten. Our studio is in Greenpoint, Brooklyn and we work with local fabricators to bring the pieces to life. We believe that thoughtful design leads to a better world.
