About the Item

Glamorous iron Italian bench with faux bois wooden tassel accents and trompe L’Oeil base. A striking bench that has been spotted in many a shelter magazine, as well as in the homes of design aficionados such as the Venetian home of Dodie Rosekrans. In the style of Niccolini. This seat features two arms that flank either side and curl gently outwards. Iron details decorate the side of each arm such as circular bent iron. From the corner of each curled arm, hang tassels created from wood and iron. A tole iron knot mimics the look of woven rope and attaches to a wooden tole tassel resembling the silk tassels often seen in Italian decor. These tassels hang from each side from the arm, with a total of four. The base is formed from four single iron legs which splay outward. A metal x stretcher affixes to each leg forming an X shape at the bottom. The underside of each leg opens outward for additional durability. The seat has been upholstered in a soft white faux fur fabric. All iron and wooden materials on this piece are in a silver hue, with some rubbing and scrapes throughout. For an additional charge, we are happy to have this piece powdered coated in a color of your choice. Likewise, we are also happy to have the cushion upholstered in your own fabric (COM) for an additional fee. How we would style it: In a home, we are big proponents of a good modern-traditional mix. Classic pieces will never go out of style. We would love to see this neoclassical style bench in a room such as a little girl’s room. With its whimsical tole tassels, it would be a fabulous way to play up other soft pink pieces. Plus, at a size that is appropriate for any age, it would be a “capsule” furniture collection piece in a room that can grow along with her. By easily changing out the upholstery, it will transition no matter the style of a space. Dimensions: 29" wide Seat width (interior) 19" wide Seat depth 19" Seat height 19" Arms 26" tall.
