19th Century Pair of French Empire Bergeres Armchairs

About the Item

A handsome pair of fabric Bergère armchairs in solid mahogany and mahogany veneer. Dating from the Empire period, these very striking chairs are in excellent condition, with exquisitely woven cream fabric upholstery featuring a classic design of woven garlands, flower-filled urns and whimsical figures covering every façade. The detachable seat cushions are deep and supremely comfortable, and the chairs have high, square backrests and beautifully rolled and reeded arm rests, fully enclosed in the Bergère style, over elegant sabre legs.
