1940s Francois Carre Fanback Garden Chair

About the Item

Restored Francois Carre Fanback Garden Chair. This chair has undergone a thorough restoration process. The process began by taking each chair back to bare metal. Then each spring, stiffener, retainer and rivet in the seat bottom was replaced. The springs in the back typically do not see the stresses as those in the seat and generally do not require replacing. That is the case with this chair. After reassembly, the chair was professionally finished with a high quality automotive urethane finish. This is a favorite in the Carre lineup and is offered in a beautiful pigeon color. Accordingly, the chair is ready for your enjoyment! There are some indications present of the actual age of the chairs (i.e. some pitting of legacy parts).
