19th century Biedermeier carved and painted cane chair

About the Item

19th century biedermeier carved and painted cane chair circa 1800. A fine example of early austrian biedermeier furniture. Shaped backrest with pierced detailing, main feature being the germanic coat of arms in the backrest. Chair is beautifully hand painted with a rose design. Original cane work seat. Standing on 4 ball and claw feet with traces of original gilding. Some expected paint loss and surface marks. Seat depth: 15" Seat height: 16"
