19th Century French Directoire Style Chairs in Set of Four.

About the Item

19th century set of four French Directoire style solid mahogany chairs. Chair frames are scraped from multiple layers of old paint to its bare mahogany wood leaving some traces of some paint The style in Neoclassical architrctural forms with minimal carving. The front turned legs are tapered with rosettes on the die joints and elegantly curved saber back legs. Seats are upholstered in velvet.
