Potty chair with straw back. In light wood, with a hollowed-out seat and a central opening where a crockery container (potty) would originally have fitted. The turned arms and legs give the piece a rustic look that mixes simplicity with a touch of elegance from the past. The straw back was a technique often used in colonial furniture.
It probably dates to the 19th century and Portuguese origin, following the style popular in the houses of the time, both in the city and in the countryside. Today, as well as being curious, it is a piece full of history and highly valued by collectors and lovers of antique furniture.
