About the Item
This is a great looking barrel chair from Plail Brothers made in c. 1910. Plail made all kinds of Arts & Crafts furniture in the early 1910s but the piece people are looking for is their barrel chair, like this one. They made two models of this chair. The first has the slots that go all the way to the floor, as does this chair. The second only takes the slots to the seal level.
This has the original finish with color added later. The seat has been recovered with top quality, hand-spun leather with cotton and hair fill ( no with sponge as on those days).
Plail chairs are very rare, and in 50 yrs we've only sold around 5 chairs.
We think the design on this chair is FANTASTIC, extremely decorative
and in mint condition.
