"Bon Ton" Chair Designed by Baldessari & Baldessari for Adele-C

About the Item

"Bon Ton" is a chair, designed by Baldessari & Baldessari and manufactured by Adele-C, with hand brushed gunmetal finished metal structure and front legs, backrest and rear legs made of turned solid ash open pore blue color lacquered and padded seat covered in leather or fabric, made by two intertwined sheets. Indoor use only. DIMENSIONS: D. 23.6", W. 21.2", H. 27.9", Seat H. 17.7" Consisting of chair, armchair and tables, the Bon Ton collection originates from researching the skilled manufacturing of wood and metal and the technological limits of these materials in order to highlight their beauty and texture. Bon Ton chair is defined by a solid wooden structure having variable sections, which winds round itself as if it were a ribbon, changing direction and perspective in a continually moving dynamic effect. The wooden structure is completed by and interacts with a tubular metal structure with an intentionally very thin section, staging a play of opposites, in tension between solids and voids. The textile covering speaks the same language with a single large twist brought to the extreme synthesis, a weft and a warp of only two fabric or leather ribbons that extend and wrap around the structure, making the seat soft and comfortable. Leather covers by Adele-C are aniline dyed in a vat during the tanning process, which avoids to use chromium salts. The result is an elegant, contemporary piece of design that becomes the star around the table and also in other domestic or public settings. PAOLO & MICHELA BALDESSARI, leading the architecture and design studio founded by Giulio, are a professional partnership active in the field of architecture, industrial, visual and interior design. The studio has several in-house workgroups and collaborates with an extensive network of external consultants. Baldessari & Baldessari took care of exhibitions in Italy and abroad. They developed research activities and took part in competitions and exhibitions. Baldessari & Baldessari are currently undertaking public and private projects in the residential, corporate and industrial sectors, restoring historic and ancient buildings and making interior design projects, in addition to collaborating with companies in the design sector.
