C18th century Swedish Gustavian painted & gilt chairs

About the Item

From the late C18th this elegant pair of side chairs highlight Gustavian style elements. The curved backs have delicate spindles with stylised wheat motifs and their tapered legs enhance its neoclassical style. Repainted and gilded over time it is currently upholstered in a serviceable and traditional pink and beige damask fabric evoking a sense of understated luxury.
