About the Item
This cantilever chair, also known as the Z-Chair or Kangaroo chair, was designed by Ernst Moeckl and Siegfried Mehl. It is a German version of the Panton chair and was produced in Eastern Germany in the 1960's. Due to the clever curved design, the chair is surprisingly comfortable and supportive.
Acquired from an individual who was sold the chair as a "prototype". There is no documentation to confirming it. However the unique caramel, marbled finish instead of the average solid color, does suggest that it may be or at the very least is rare.
It is fully stable with no cracks. Light patina consistent with age as can be seen in photos.
