Chippendale Style Amphora Chair, 19th Century

About the Item

A portuguese chair in the shape of a classic amphora on the back, hollow back and seat of impeccable natural straw, rounded neck at the ends and front and rear legs of rectangular section, with oriental elements combined with neo-Gothic elements, derived from Rococo of France and Neoclassicism - Chipendale style Reviewed and running without clearances. Thomas Chippendale's furniture is mainly characterized by desks, chairs, small tables and beds, which present a striking presence of sculpted areas, such as on the backrest, where the Chinese interlacing and the neoclassical lyre stand out.
