19th Century English Chestnut Comb Back Chair with Curved Arms and Long Apron

About the Item

This unusual late 19th English chestnut chair features a curved comb back with spindles and a scrolling top rail, resting on four block feet with pegged construction. The arms, curved halfway, end in scrolls while a long carved apron joins both front legs, giving it the appearance of a chest. The high planked seat presents notches and irregularities that add even more charm to the piece. This English chair or bench, circa 1870, with its unusual semi apron and traditional comb style back, will be a great addition to any dining room.
