Early Arras Orangery Chair

About the Item

A pretty Arras Orangery or Garden chair from the famous iron factories in the town of Arras, Northern France. This wonderful example is a blacksmith-made rivetted chair in wrought iron displaying superb age-related wear throughout. The chair displays all its original cast iron lion paw feet and shapely stretchers on both sides beneath the seat. A remarkable chair in completely original as-found condition. France, circa 1870.
