Early Modernistic Wooden Chairs from the 1920 's, Austria

About the Item

These three chairs were designed and made for a specific client in Vienna, Austria. They were purchased in the Grinzing District which was known for its active support of artistic pursuits in Vienna. They are made of hard wood that has been painted brown using a technique known as " Schleiflack ". From a design stand point they represent early modernism. If you examine the photos there are many details that are unique to these chairs. If you choose to use them as is, i would recommend a light sanding. Of course one may repaint them in a colour pallet from the 1930 s. The weight of each chair is approx. 4.5 kilos.

Wear consistent with age and use. These chairs are solidly built, the paint has worn off through 100 years of use. There are no loose parts and they have no wobble .
