Gibbous chair by Jude Di Leo Dimensions: 62 x 51 x 70 cm Materials: Solid maple and English bridle leather The award-winning Gibbous chair was designed by creating tracings of the lunar calendar, in particular the gibbous phase, in which all its curved shapes are derived. The chair is made to tuck all the way under the Gibbous table, creating open floor space and maximum room flow. Winner of the 2019 NYC x DESIGN Best Residential Seating Award by Interior Design Magazine and ICFF. Material options: Solid maple & chestnut English bridle leather (as shown), or solid walnut & black English bridle leather. Jude Heslin Di Leo, a Cooper Hewitt National Design Award nominee and NYC x DESIGN Awards winner, is a designer of custom interiors, furniture and products. With a deep commitment to the exploration of craftsmanship, Jude's work has a subtly penetrating feel. Since 2006, he has designed, managed and developed interior build-outs, furniture and decorative lighting elements for restaurants, retail, offices, residences, and experiential events. He co-founded the sustainable furniture company Bear & Lion with Bernardo Guillermo in 2007, where the duo self-produced original lines of contemporary work from their Brooklyn based studio. Over the course of his career Jude has collaborated with highly established architectural and interior design firms, developers, and artists on large scale projects. Jude received his bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design from Pratt Institute, and studied graphic design while attending Rhode Island School of Design. He currently resides in New York’s Hudson Valley, and continues his education through his evolving work and curiosities.
