A chic, exceedingly unusual pair of hand-painted, hollow, cast iron armchairs with hand-punched, swing arm, chain garlands. The back rails are surmounted by sphere finials, and forward arms are scroll form. The whole above curved- x-form bases. The chairs boast their original, black-and-taupe canvas seats and back rests which are pierced with grommets, and woven with black and 22k gold strings.

First built for use on submarines in 1944, the Navy Chair has been in continuous production ever since. This is a recent production in a very good condition.
