Mid-Century Erwine and Estelle Laverne Champagne Chair, for Formes Nouvelle 1957

About the Item

Rare green "Champagne" chair designed in 1957 by Estelle & Erwin Laverne for Formes Nouvelles Italy. Made of green molded plexiglass on a polished aluminum base, with a white original faux leather cushion, the chairs swivel comfortably. Inspired by Saarinen's "Tulip" chair, Champagne is part of Laverne's "Invisible Group". The slender base of the pedestal and the transparent shell give the design a visual lightness and timeless sophistication. Swivel base returns to central position.
