Set of four Champagne chair by Estelle & Erwine Laverne for Formes Nouvelles

About the Item

Set of four Lucite Champagner chairs designed by Erwine & Estelle Laverne, ca. 1960 manufactured by Formes Nouvelles, in France. We have a 2nd set of four Champanger chairs available for sale, that you’ll find in our storefront here on 1stdibs ! With it’s transparent lucite seat shell and polished Aluminium base the Champagner chair is a beautiful and yet minimalistic chair. It offers an impressing elegance: It’s lucite shell evokes - and therefore the name - the idea of a champagne glass. The base, made from cast and polished aluminum is equipped with a revolving shivel function, that automatically returns to its center position. The chairs have foam filled cushions in black, white and two in cognac leather. The chairs are in very good vintage condition with few signs of use appropriate to age and wear. The Aluminium base shows slight scratches and signs of use. Dimensions: W 65 cm x D 60 cm H 88 cm, seat height circa 40 cm.
