Midcentury GFM-120 Armchairs by Edmund Homa, 1960s, Set of Two

About the Item

Set of chairs, model GFM-120 appears extremely rarely on the antiquarian market. It was designed by Edmund Homa, manufactured by Goscinska Furniture Factory in Poland in the 1960s. Professor Edmund Homa was Polish architect, designer of industrial design and interior architecture, professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk. awarded with an artistic scholarship by the Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen in 1968. The chair was created in the showroom of Goscicinska Fabryka Mebli in the 1960s. The designs from the period of cooperation with GFM can be recognized by the organic, liquid form, high-quality finish characteristic of "premium" products and great ergonomics that take into account the requirements of modern "Homo Sedens". The chairs were reupholstered with new danish wool fabric by Kvadrat in mustard color, the wood is in original, exceptionally good condition.
