Pair of 19th Century French Carved Walnut Chairs with Needlepoint Upholstery
About the Item
Decorate a bedroom or study with this elegant pair of antique side chairs. Crafted in southern France circa 1870, each chairs stands on turned legs ending with bun feet over a carved X stretcher embellished with a center finial. The tall and pitched back with side cone shape finials has three scalloped ladders. The wide and deep seat is dressed with the original floral and bird decor needlepoint tapestry and embellished with decorative brass nail heads. Both Louis XIV style occasional chairs are in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorn a rich walnut patina.
