Pair of Chinese Elm 'Rose' Chairs

About

A pair of 19th century Chinese elm rose chairs. The chairs are made from solid elm with a panel seat and square legs. The back has five round spars inside a pair of uprights and a shaped top rail. The chairs have stretchers between the legs and an inner frieze also between the legs. To the back of both chairs is a painted Chinese signature. The chairs are in good condition, circa 1860. Measures: Height 80cm (31.5 inches) Width 41cm (16.1 inches) Depth 35.5cm (14 inches).
