About the Item

Pair George II walnut chairs  A pair of Georgian walnut chairs, the backs with moulded detail and indented corners with veneered urn-shaped splats, with pointed cresting, over drop-in upholstered seats. The moulded legs all united with stretchers. The veneered back splat is a lovely and unusual detail incorporated in the design of these chairs, the pointed cresting of the top of the splat sits flush with the top rail, end grain meeting side grain.  A pair of chairs of generally simple form, no cabriole leg, piercing or carving, the style comes from the subtle details, the veneered back and indented corners. English, circa 1740 We offer free UK delivery on this item. Please contact us for overseas shipping quotes.
