Pair of kyokuroku chairs in original red lacquer with gilt carvings and embossed brass hardware.
One chair with the seat made of black leather, the other chair with seat in canvas. Both chairs with footrest.
Original untouched condition.
From monastery in Japan, Meiji period approx. 1870.
Kyokuroku is the name given to this type of folding meditation chairs for monks.
