This Scissors armchair set of two was designed by Folke Ohlsson for the Swedish manufacturer Bodafors in 1962. It has a scissor oak frame with eight slats on the backrest. The loose cushions have been re-upholstered in a high-quality gray textured fabric. The history of this project began in 1950, when Olhsson designed these armchairs for his DUX company. In 1953, he moved to the United States and founded DUX Incorporated, which was a huge success. The designs of Ohlsson's armchairs and sofas are appreciated for their graceful combination of traditional details and modernist simplicity.
