About the Item

Rare pair of chairs, Veneto, first quarter eighteenth century era. Made of walnut, they have the front richly inlaid with cherry feather and olive burl, with a bouquet of flowers in the center of the backrest and a geometric pattern running down the front legs. The seat has scalloped and molded contours, as does the backrest. Similar design models appear in the collections of the Museo Civico de Feltre (Belluno Italy) and the Foresteria Del Convento Del Santo - Padua (Italy) Cf Clara Santini - Thousand Furniture Veneto - Domestic furniture in Veneto from the sec. 15th to sec.
