Wimbledon-Furniture Wimbledon-Furniture is delighted to offer for sale this stunning hand carved and made in China circa 1890 export redwood Teak bench depicting dragons Please note the delivery fee listed is just a guide, it covers within the M25 only, for an accurate quote please send me your postcode A very rare and well-made piece, certainly from the latter part of the 19th century as part of the great Chinese export movement, highly desirable and one of the only pieces with almost all the carvings to the mainframe still intact There are many variations of these in chair form, very few in benches, they start from around 1870 and work all the way up to the last 30 years, the more modern they are the less detail they have as the craftsman who created the earlier pieces never fully passed on the skills to make them, also the original tools no longer exist The condition is testament to the quality, the frame is solid and stable, the main body carving is in good order, the finials on the top of the outside edges unscrew, they are missing small pieces each, I can have them recaved for a fee but to be honest they are very old and its all part of the look and feel Dimensions Height:- 112cm Width:- 138cm Depth:- 56.5cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point, if you would like any additional or specific measurements please ask Any questions please feel free to ask before you bid Please note the delivery fee listed is just a guide, for an accurate quote please send me your postcode and I’ll price it up for you This item is available for collection from our Wimbledon warehouses SW19-3BE, we can have it delivered nationwide to include Scotland Wales and Ireland.
